Ponderosa Lemon

Oil on Board
11 x 14

It is nice to be back in Arizona and in the studio, I have three still life paintings in progress and finished this one today. I am using Inner Glow boards which are 1/2" thick wood boards and I am so far delighted at the way they accept paint. I recently bought a few to try and will definitely be ordering more.

White Poppys

Oil on Linen Panel
16 x 20

I recently did this floral painting while visiting our son and his wife in California. Their neighbor had a bush of these beautiful flowers and she was kind enough to allow me to cut some from the bush to use for this painting.

Vermont En Plein Aire

Roadside Study

8 x 10 Oil on Board

Another plein air study done during my visit to Isle Lamotte, Vermont. When we first arrived it rained nearly everyday, but the last two weeks of the visit the weather changed and I was able to enjoy the natural beauty of the Island.

Vermont Plein Air

Woodland Study
5 x 7 Oil on Board

This study was done at the Fisk Quarry on Isle Lamotte, a state historical site, cherished by the Islanders. My daily walks through the area were quiet and thoughtful and provided delightful sights and sounds.

Lake Champlain

Lake Champlain
9 x 12
Oil on Board Plein Air

It has been a long time between posts, but I am now back in Arizona and will be trying to catch up in the coming days. The final leg of our trip was to Isle Lamotte, Vermont on Lake Champlain. We visited with our good friends Dave and Mary Jane who have a lovely home on the island. We stayed for a month and I was able to do some Plein Air work while there, this piece was done from their front deck. The lake level was at a 130 year high and the rocks and trees in the foreground which are underwater is all part of the front yard. Unfortunately many of the Islanders actually lost their homes in the flooding. Dave and Mary Jane were among a few of the fortunate ones. I will post a couple more from the trip in the next few days as well as some new work that I have done here in the studio.
